I moved into my new apartment Friday afternoon. It's a spacious apartment on the very western end of Huaihai Road, a famous street that runs through most of the inner circle of Shanghai. I have my own room but share the apartment with three others: a German guy from Hamburg, a Belgian guy who just graduated and is starting a business here in Shanghai, and a Swiss guy.
This is a view from my bedroom. If I stick my head out the window and look left, I can see into Red Town, an enclave art district filled with art galleries and contemporary statues. If I turn my head the other way, I can see one of Grand Gateway Square towers, rising upward and touching the hazy, grey sky.
